@maire83 he lied. Depends on either where he lives, or what you call vulgar. We germans do not have the sex-obsessed swearing the english tongue has. Our swearing is more "fecal". We do not have swear words like "cunt, fuck, pussy, dick" and so on (although they get imported by the muslim immigrants now, who swear sex-related like the english)... we have "Arsch, Mist, Dreck, Scheiße" and so on and so on. Most of our cuss words are related to dirt, not to sex.(on native germans)

My boyfriend's German and he lived in NYC for 6 months. When he got back to Germany, one of the things he said was that he suddenly noticed how much everyone there curses. I was skeptical, saying I couldn't believe people cursed more in Germany than New York. He said maybe Germans and Americans swear the same amount, but he said German swearing is a lot more vulgar. Idk though, since I don't understand German.
