Taste Test Feedback:

appearance: packaging: cute box, pretty ribbon, a little difficult to open - could use a rubber band or better yet twist tie with the ribbon attached? cookie - HUGE (love it). looks great with chocolate dip and sprinkles. can't wait to try it! very impressive looking.

smell: smells good- sugary, sweet. would like a little almond-y smell which is what i always notice with the fortune cookies i LOVE)

texture: nice and crunchy, hard to break which is part of the fun... to have to use MUSCLE for a cookie :)

sound: even SOUNDS loud when you break it!

taste: cookie- good consistency/crunch, not stale, prominent sugar/vanilla flavor. would like a bit more egg and almond-y flavor for it to taste "authentic"... perhaps get the egg flavor with an egg wash over cookie before baking (would also give it a "sheen"). chocolate coating: looks GREAT, a bit too many sprinkles, plus those particular kind of sprinkles dont really taste good to me - a bit too "chalky". chocolate- too sugary sweet, not chocoalte-y enough. reminds me of that "candy coating bark" - needs more true choc. flavor. less sweetness. creamy consistency tho, is a great contrast to the crunchy cookie. wonder if vanilla coating is ever used? if just using that "coating" stuff, vanilla might be just as good. also, the coating could be shinier -maybe a light sheen of food grade wax or something over the chocolate? - i know there is a way to get shiny chocolate, just cant remember what it is :)

fortune: "if you dont climb to the top of the hill, there is no way to admire the view"... personally i like "fortuney" fortunes - that predict something that will happen in your future. also - this one had wavy lines cut in the sides, i dont think that's necessary, it would look more authentic with just the straight lines.

overall impression: WHAT A FUN COOKIE! very impressive overall - great presentation - a bit easier to open would be good. cookie is great and crunchy. could be improved with some almond essence. the whole thing, cookie and coating, could be shinier. regarding chocolate coating, try some different kinds of sprinkles that are tastier, and a coating that is more "chocolatey". if this thing runs 30 bucks, i think it should actually taste like good chocolate. up the price if you must - anyone who pays 30 bucks for a cookie would probably pay more... :)
