Ending Note: If you would like to see extra clips not shown in the movie go to (my favorites) and you will find the music videos. Although there are some clips that are pulled directly from the movie, there are new clips such as the dance of Mokuren, the discovery of Mokurens Kiches mark as a child, the gathering of the scientists on Toyko Tower to attempt to destroy the Moon Base. And a glimpse of Alice and Rin as adults.
Before Shion died on the Moon during his insanity he created a loop program of Mokuren singing and transmitted the song to the Earth so it could always bathe in her song. Rin did not realize this when he was collecting everyones key words to destroy the base. When the realization hit him he fainted and did not awaken for 10 days and was lulled back to consciencness with the help of the other scientists who gathered around his bed at the hospital.
So, what happens after that? In the manga four years later, Alice still sings while Rin (now taller than she is) is busy with many kinds of activities, from playing the piano to stockbroking. Haru has become an illustrator, Tamura and Ayako have built their own family, and Mikuro disappears to America. Daisuke is now a university student majoring in language, and Issei (a hair designer) is engaged to Sakura (an office worker). As for Jinpachi, he is now going out with Rin's classmate Ayanokouji Ayumi (needless to say she is nine years younger), to Alice's fascination. Rin meanwhile has asked Alice to marry him despite his age (he is only twelve). They plan to spend their future together based on the hopes and lessons of their past.

Yes that is true, there were some answered questions, but yes, they did figure out all the plots Rin did in the manga such as his persona change.

In the recnt manga story （僕を包む月の光） Rin(24) and Alice(33) got married and have a boy and a girl.

@jonathanokoro35 No he didn't die, everyone decided to live their present and hope for a better future...they will abandon their previous life memories and accept to be earthean. for example , Enjo will ignore that he was a female.........In case of Rin, as he wrote in his diary.........that he hope for Alice to go togather to the beach and enjoy and as soon as they go back home everyone will have his own life......they will break up in order to live this life.......life moves on and so they do.
