According to Cy Curnin, the lead singer, the meaning is becoming free of encumbrances. The idea for the lyrics came to the band when they were on the road and did not have all the comforts and personal possessions that they did at home.

You're so lucky! You don't know how bad I wish I was born in the 70s just to experience the 80s and 90s. You know that those eras were the best when you start seeing a revitalization of it. Music and fashion are so heavily influenced by the 80s nowadays.

I remember wearing my sisters legwarmers while i danced to this song. It was the greatest year ever.

I remember listening to The Fixx on my walkman while skateboarding. Just that whole era.. I could escape with this song and tune out the world. I really miss the 80's sometimes...

I know what you mean...I miss the 80's too, specially 80"s music. I was young and handsome and single...what happend???

Yeah no kiddin.. seems like I blinked and all of the sudden I'm pushing 40 and wondering what the hell happened. I just know that at the time, I didn't realize how cool that era was.. maybe it was the youth, I dunno.. but this music is a quick audio sedative to take me out of the chaos of today.

Yes, I didn't realized how cool that era was too, untill time went by and things changed, perhaps the coolest era ever and I can just go back to that era by listening to 80's with a big smile on my face.
