@royals1985brett perhaps the same reason that, although Israel were God's people, they indeed also began to worship baals and the ashtoreth, molech, etc. It was so bad that even the Pagan nations around them began to be disgusted by their activities, and so without God's saving grace, how is it possible that the Ishmaelites, like all the other nations, did not ultimately pervert God's truth through the ages?
