This is the remixed/remade version of my first Shadowbane video, "If It Wasn't For Us Mourning Would Be Speaking T.C.E." I didn't have any of the original, raw footage, so I had to make do with using the already edited footage from "I.I.W.F.U.M.W.B.S.T.C.E.", editing it down, adding some flashy effects and changing the music.

This video highlights a war between a group of misfits (Keepers of the Grotto (KotG), Order of the Pink Pansies (OPP), and some other random guilds we persuaded to our side) and The Catharsian Empire (TCE). There was a good amount of history between the members KotG/OPP and TCE from past wars and experiences, so when TCE stood as the powerhouse of the Mourning server, it was only natural that we went gunning for them.

There are some details about this war that might not be apparent except to the people that were directly involved. TCE had a very well-fortified city out in the desert that was difficult to siege. Working within the mechanics of the game, TCE used some extremely clever strategies to protect their city from destruction. The leadership of the KotG/OPP alliance knew that despite probably having greater overall numbers, the chances of taking down the city were very slim without some kind of alternative plan. Luckily, we had such a plan: The QB Sneak.

One of our key members had been given a password to an account of one of TCE's Inner Council (IC) members a long time previous to this war. We discovered that not only did the password to the account still work, but it gave us access to a character that had IC ranking, which gave it the ability to unlock the doors to the gates, turn off spires (which prevented flying and summoning), disable the guards, and banish members of the guild. When we ultimately realized we wouldn't be able to win with any straightforward strategy, we decided to execute the QB Sneak, and the rest is history.

The motto of SB was always "Play to Crush" though, and that's what we went for.

  • If only the OPPFT meatpuppets weren't 90% megalomaniacal douchebags, perhaps SB would've stood a chance; so much talent it completely empty cisterns.
