@fistle Only a jerk would say you don't need to Snap T on a video showing how to snap T, and Titled that. This is what I was talking about on the other spots where you act like a jackass. Did it occur to you she cast so "square" to get the fly down to the fish before it starts to swing? The water is fast. Can you tell how deep? Try not to be a rude jerk in the future.

Why all the hate? There are so few women in the sport, we should really be supporting them when we find them inside of posting snide comments.

Cute smile and a nice cast, dont know why grumpy old dudes are being so salty., but keep doing your thing. :)

@binhexbinhex Yes, you make it look easy. Thanks for the example. I'm glad the guy who was critical didn't bait you into an unkind statement, he obviously has inflated idea of how good he is. Congrats on examples of a great cast, and a class act.

do you have mono line on your spey line? because right now i have spey like then mono attached to that, and its hard for me to cast with out it snapping like a whip!

Luminous future! Good line preparation, just lost a few anchor... Good and young caster! Go on this way!
This comment has received too many negative votes show
This is absolutely not needed.....a single spey cast over the right shopulder would have produced a better cleaner result and the cast would not have been so square, I guess the girl is left handed and cant cast her right hand uppermost.

Actually its funny you mention that, as I cast left handed but I naturally cast right handed as a spey caster... It was most comfortable for me to learn.
The reason why I use the snap T in this case is that I find it easier to cast 15 feet of T-14 and barbell eyed flies, but maybe you have a different approach. This video was taken in a winter run steelhead fishing scenario.
Line stick and anchor placement can become troublesome with the single spey unless you are using a floating line.

@fistle
This caster needs some Skagit casting lessons. Ironically, and embarrassingly, she thinks she has it right but she is putting twice the amount of effort into the cast as needed. There is no need to set-up with that roll-cast. This is not single handed casting this is Skagit casting with a double handed rod. Why defeat the whole purpose?

@Machster10 I mentioned that my form is not perfect, I don't need to say much more than that. I'm not casting 'skagit syle' either, but you already know that...

I'm not being critical... I am just trying to learn. I was told that I should never "rip the water" like was done here. Is that OK, or is it really a big deal?

You'll find that the 'white mouse' is an essential component of building up line speed in your spey cast while fishing sink tips...
Casting floating lines can be done with more finesse. You could also cast more softly if you don't need the distance.
To get the distance, you have to throw a large D loop behind you, and to get this, you have to get the line moving, and keep that tip from sinking before the forward spey component of your cast.
