Me too... Essra's demo was from 1988-ish and the song was a hit for Lisa Fischer in 1991, I believe. Pretty soulful for a former Jewish, white girl from Philadelphia, right?

Thanks for posting this, fecinny. Lisa's still blows me away in that big fashion but Essra's has an intimacy to it that is v. appealing. The way her chorus differs is also interesting. Always like to hear how songwriters interpret their own songs... so thanks for this!
