Andrew Meyer Tased and Justifiably so, no rights violated, NOT POLICE BRUTALITY

Basically this is what happened, Andrew was in line to ask Kerry a question. Kerry was giving a talk, it wasn't a political rally, it wasn't a town hall meeting, and it wasn't a debate. IT WAS A SPEAKING ENGAGEMENT, then some questions from the crowd, however, he spoke longer than expected. The time ran out for questions and they announced they would only take one more. Andrew being a couple people back in line didn't like the fact he wasn't going to get to ask a question. Andrew began an argument with one of the moderators telling them it was bullshit that he didn't get to ask his question, and got in their face. He interrupted the student and Kerry's discourse of the last question by running up to where the mic was and starting to yell at Kerry that it was bullshit he didn't get a turn and how he had to hear him talk in circles for two hours. This is disorderly conduct. The cops grabbed onto him and were about to eject him, but Kerry intervened. There used to be video but it is not avail anymore, but you can read the transcript

Kerry scolded him for his outburst and told him he'd give him a chance to ask his question when he was done with the other student.

Now the event had rules set in place by ACCENT, the student group running the event, 1 you were allowed one question 2 you had 30 secs to preface it and ask it, and 3 no vulgarity or profanity or the mic would be cut and you'd be ejected.
When he got to speak, he began a long diatribe about Palast's book about the 2004 election and voter fraud type issues, never asking a question. Kerry said he had read it, and asked him to ask a question. His first question was "Isn't that amazing" Andrew goes on to ask 5-6 more questions with out letting Kerry get a word in edgewise, then talks about Clinton getting a "blowjob". At this point the ACCENT moderators had enough of his behavior and cut his mic and asked police to remove him, of which he resisted, pushed and pulled away from two officers and caused a bigger scene. That's disorderly conduct AGAIN! NOW he's under arrest, which he tried to run away after being forcibly moved to the back of the auditorium, keeps fighting when they put him on the ground by not complying and putting his hands behind his back. They also warned him several times to comply or he WOULD be tased. He didn't, they did.

He was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, which he took a plea and got 18 months of probation. There was a use of force investigation, as there always is for anything like this, and cops were found in policy. No discipline at all.

Some people that think he was arrested for what he was talking about, but they are wrong. The controversy is that the mic was cut as he started talking about skull and bones, people think the police grabbed him for that violating his first amendment rights, but if you watch the different angle of video filmed and posted by youtuber fozzymandias, you can clearly see the moderator behind him turn to the sound booth guy and give him the "cut it off" motion right after he used the word blowjob as he's asking the skull and bones question. If it was really about skull and bones the guy would have had to be psychic to be giving the cutting motion as the words skull and bones are coming out of his mouth. Also watch the angle of video from youtuber hunnybun523, the girl you see with the camera in this vid standing next to meyer.

It's also a common mistake to think he was tased after being handcuffed, he was tased to get him into the handcuffs.

It's also a misunderstood conception how the police do their arrest tactics. When arresting a combative person, such as Meyer, you get as many officers on him as possible to control him to get him safely into handcuffs and no one gets hurt. One on each leg, one at the head, one on each arm. He kept trying to flip over and grabbing on the chairs next to him. They did what they needed to do with out strikes to get him into custody. Instead they drovestun him in the shoulder, which is like a cattleprod type action and just causes pain at the site of contact.

Point is there were rules in place set forth by the moderators, and state laws that he violated. His rights were not violated, and he was resisting arrest when he was tased. It was not HIS forum to do what he wanted. if he wants complete freedom of speech and freedom to act like a complete jackass, then he can organize his OWN forum and ask Kerry all the questions he wants and rant and rave about conspiracy theories all he wants. THEN if the police or gov't were to shut it down, THAT'S a violation of the first amendment. VERIFY IT YOURSELF IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME.
