One of the great aspects of the Star Trek franchise is that the original cast has managed to stay together for many years throughout its manifestations- as if it was a family. That sense of camaraderie continued when Gene Roddenberry decided to hire Ms. Whitney to do a role in the original Star Trek movie. Her story is inspiring and wonderful to hear she has managed to reverse her decline with the help of her castmates.

still can't believe that she was wandering around hitting on dudes in sleazy parts of L.A as late as 1981. Oh well.. I was only 13 then.. but God.. just about every night for at least 8 years before that I'd watched Star Trek in some form or another and she was like the Liz Taylor of that world of TV women you worship as a kid. LOL.. the mind boggles..
