It makes me sad, that a viewer was so narrow-minded and mean-spirited as to refer to this pilot as arrogant. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that this consummate professional behaved admirably before, during, and after a living nightmare. And it doesn't take a clairvoyant to know that he's as sensitive and grateful, as he is confident and competent. As far I'm concerned, there's no better definition of humble...

This makes me want to be a pilot more than ever while simultaneously making me feel unworthy to even consider doing such a thing.

That said, I love the note this ends on. Couldn't have said it better myself.

I just watched this a second time. I needed something to put a rough day at work, dealing with an asshole client, into perspective, and this did the trick.

Great video

Ok, I'm on the train...
this was a great story.
I wonder how many people started these tale videos thinking of writing something stupid, then watched silently until the end.
I did.
That's one hell of a tale!

One of the most intense things I've ever watched. Going from 30.000 ft with no control to landing with survivors is incredible! This man is the definition of hero.

Errol Morris is brilliant!

My dad was the Head LCA Coordinator for the 10 Fleet, he knew Denny and always has spoken highly of him. He also tried the scenario of flight 262 in the sims at DenTK , I don't believe that he was able to accomplish what Denny did

Born to be a pilot, a destiny to fulfill. He couldn't save them all; but without him none would have survived. Here here, raise your glass and salute the hero. This was an amazing story of a first hand experience with life and death. Whew!
