In his original trial, Rudy Guede said he saw a single, shadowy Italian man kill Meredith. The court did not believe him and gave him 30 years.

In his appeal, he said he saw Amanda and Raffaele kill Meredith. He also apologized to the Kerchers for going out dancing instead of calling an ambulance for their daughter. His sentence was reduced to 16 years.

Thank God this nightmare for Amanda and Rafaelle is over and done with. Thank God the media shone a light on the facts of this case and exposed the Italian prosecution for the witch hunt it always was. Changing evidence, changing motives, and finally no motive or explanation. I hope all the haters can tun their attention on the lone murderer in this case, Guede. And I praise the Italian judges for seeing the real facts in this case and overturning the convictions against Amanda and Rafaelle.
