WOW. One of the BEST talks on the necessity for love-communion and self-transcendence for Practice.

  • After 3 years of knowing adi da, every time i watch his videos i understand more and more, and enter into deeper states of love.

  • @O5CARMICHA3L After 34 years of knowing Adi Da, every time I watch his videos I understand more and more, and enter into deeper states of love.

  • His language, and what he communicates is very precise. I see the value in that. From the testimonials I've looked at, his followers appear to value something else. Specifically, contact induced experiences.

Personally, I've had a few experiences along the lines of kundalini, etc., during periods of intense meditation. They were as real to me as my experience of typing on this keyboard. However, I understood, with no hesitation, that it's not that.

  • @2eidolons Right. No experience. Will you enter into love? "Reality cannot be achieved or experienced, only avoided." This is a graceful process. Immediacy, not experiences.

  • @2eidolons Well said! :)

  • @ACIMpsychology Yes, lack of responsibility for one's own shite, so to speak. Most certainly not what he would have wanted. The guru/devotee model has its problems. People can make a life of "discipleship" and do. Too obvious.

As Sasaki-roshi once said to me, "You are Buddha, as I am Buddha." Know it, live it, realize it. Takes cajones though; and I respect Adi Da for that.

  • @2eidolons Not sure whether its flawed or not but I have noticed that many devotees coo and react dramatically more so when Adi refers to certain aspects of "his" condition. As if it is really "his" condition. His condition is their condition but the struggling seeker confuses Adi's merging with Spirit with some sort of personal achievement. That is basically idol worship and explains why certain seekers are still at it after decades.

  • The love of which you speak is, in my opinion, best defined as uncondtional awareness. And I fully comprehend why it could be considered a function of "grace". You find yourself immersed, through no volition of your own. However, that being said, grace is inherent in existence. Unfortunately, we are quite capable of interfering with the process. Essentially, that's the problem.

There is an expression among zens, "kill the buddha". Realization is the result of awareness and understanding.

  • @2eidolons I am saying God-realization is a paradox and He has given This to many, indeed all. I am also saying that the process is the most creative process ever. It is not that the Guru-devotee relationship is flawed "in this time and place", the process is immense and not "achievable". It is most effective. The humble nature of Its appearance in devotees and the world speaks of Its greatness, not its ineffectiveness. He has done it, watch.
