Men At Work's first single was 'Keypunch Operator', released in 1980 and making little impact. Another single titled 'Down Under' was a limited release and sold only at the band's gigs in Melbourne. The original version of 'Down Under' was recorded at a slow pace and showed no commercial potential whatsoever. After being re-recorded and re-released, the single became an international hit; thus, making the little known Melbourne band an international fad.
