Arirang 아리랑 Korean Traditional Folk Song

Arirang is a korean traditional folk song sung by all koreans even in the north. It is famous for it's traditional yet sad melody that reflects one's loss for love, nation etc.

Korea had been a unified country and it has a history of 4~5000 years. It is one of the most oldest civilization on earth. However; after the annexation from Japan from 1910 to 1945, the country had been divided and due to the influence of USSR; the idea of communism; Korea had a civil war / the political war in 1950 between the communist North and democratic South. Nobody won the war, thousands of millions of lives were lost and korea still stands divided until today, leaving it's few thousand years of unified history behind.

uniting the north and south would hurt the south's economy. so many would starve and die if they were to unite. the north koreans would flood the south causing disease and strife.
