I love this movie, and Cary Grant! Everytime someone puts up the whole movie, YT takes it down..it was up a few months ago. Love this scene. I guess I'll have to pop in the dvd. I also like the choir part and when Dudley is talking with Mrs. Hamilton and begins playing the harp...they sure don't make em like this anymore!! thank for posting!

There is a skating pond in Madison, WI that looks just like this. Magical. And, putting all pettiness aside, this is a heartbreakingly lovely movie.

Grant's character skates like an angel, of course!

@spagandtuna Thanks for your explanation.. “TBW” in which the bishop put his cathedral before his wife, seems to have been an omen for the 2010 acrimonious financial fiasco of the tawdry Crystal Cathedral. The CC was built to pander to the vanity of the Schullers, not to glorify God. Creation is better worshipped by star-gazing on a clear night from a rural field. The angel didn’t commit the deadly sin of “Lust” but “Envy”of humans in that he was never “hot or cold, hungry or full”

@lethe5032 The fact that there was such an attraction caused a good deal of (unnecessary but justified) consternation on the part of Niven, which is a core issue in the film that leads the viewer to feel that somehow HE has the problem. As far as comparing BW with the crap of today, well, can't argue with that. But there are many unsung holiday films of the past that for reasons unknown to me, have to take a back seat to this, for ex., Christmas in Connecticut.

@spagandtuna You've got it wrong! The angel said he was attracted to her and does the right thing by saying that he must leave. Enjoy the film for what it is. This film is heaps better than many unwholesome films of violence made today. It has the true Christmas Spirit that is lacking in society today.

I wish all taxi drivers were like Sylvester!

This sappy flick is o.k. for folks who need something feel good, but there is an odd plot component: the angel flirts with (at least teases) committing adultery with the bishop's wife in order to get the bishop to appreciate her. What gives here????
I agree I prefer this film than It's a Wonderful Life that's my second favourite Christmas film.
