Guangzhou Railway station, Liuhua district is the area which is going to face the greatest changes from coming 104th Canton Fair. Since before, Canton Fair was held in Pazhou and Liuhua respectively. So, the Guangzhou Railway Station district which is next to Liuhua Canton Fair venue used to be one of the top choices for Canton Fair visitors, esp. those focus on Liuhua venue. Besides, Liuhua venue would offer free shuttle bus to Pazhou, therefore, making it one of the most convenient district for Canton Fair visitors.

Yet, from Oct 2008 onwards, the whole Canton Fair is going to move to Pazhou completely, so Guangzhou Railway Station district has totally lost all the advantages of being close to Canton Fair venue. Would they greatly reduce the room rate from this Canton Fair onwards? Having asked for several restaurants near the Liu Hua Venue, we found that three restaurants claimed the price might be reduced and some said it have nothing to do with its price, the other restaurants haven't decided yet. So it remains to be seem.

Guangzhou Train station area is the transport node of Guangzhou. If you would like to find a base to explore, visit different factories in Pearl River Delta, then you would find staying here pretty convenient, as there is 2 long distance coach station in the area, include: Liu Hua and Provincial Coach Station. Please notice, Guangzhou Train station is the old station in Guangzhou where the trains mainly go to inland China. The thorough train from HK would not stop in this station.


The status of being the transport focal point in Guangzhou has pros and cons. The major short coming is: this is one of the most chaotic areas in Guangzhou, with lots of passengers moving in the area, the law and order in train station area is not so good. Even though, usually, the Guangzhou police would pay extra effort to ensure law and order during Canton Fair period.




For those visitors who had stayed in this area, please notice, this area would no longer enjoy the convenience of being close to Canton Fair venue. It is just one area which is on the same metro line to Pazhou, about 30minutes metro's travel. You can enjoy the convenience of staying in city center. If you enjoy to get a first hand feel of the hassle and bustle of Guangzhou city life, or you would like to stay close to wholesale market of garment, watches ,shoes etc, such as White Horse Dress, Xin Da Di Dress. then this is the place to be.




General reviews on the hotels in this area

Room rates of the 4-5 star hotels near the Liuhua Canton Fair Venue are pretty high, yet there are also some 2-3 star hotels on the Zhanqian Road(a block away from the railway station) which would charge much less. The 2-3 star hotels are with basic facilities and most of them provide free shuttle bus. The traffic flows here is smaller.
Others on the Guangyuan west Road would be quite noisy all the time because they are next to the highway bridge, and the sound insulation is not in a good condition. They provide poor facilities, some may be without internet access, but charge lower price.
