OH! You mean 'RHINESTONE Cowboy'! I just heard it myself. (Didn't know what 'Risington Cowboy' was.) It's a little reminiscent lyrically of 'By The Time I get To Phoenix', as well. I suppose all those Beach Boys tours with Brian Wilson being replaced by Glen Campbell must have rubbed off!

erm, more about Al. He brought a lot of folky influences to the band and was responsible for some of their most interesting successes - "Sloop John B," "Connfields," "Lady Lynda" etc. He was a lot more eclectic than the others, although his voice tends to stand out from the others. Al is a gentleman and a down-to-earth guy.

heard Mr Jardine several years ago w his band at the Lobster festival in Maine..It was amazing how natural his voice sounded as lead on songs he did not sing, his voice was great, band even better, even my 20 some yr old son was impressed w the band( he has played in several groups), yea I would say under rated....thanks Al..

i think Al Jardine is a FANTASTIC very under rated musician who got a raw deal always getting shadowed by brian wilsons genius, dennis wilsons looks, mike loves arrogance, and carl wilsons leads... behind ALL of them was Al Jardines amazingly supportive rythym and harmony. we love you Al, keep rockin man.

Yep, stumptacular .. my sentiments also ! Al is certainly the most cogent & clear-headed of what's left of the surviving individuals of that great immortal BB band (their music will never die). Yes, he always was, I think, and is still under-rated today. But at least he's back again, playing onstage, now & again, with his old high-school football-buddy from all those years ago, and the GRAND MASTER of Sophisticated, Advanced Rock Music .. BW, & his awesomely fabulous touring & studio band.
