I agree that raag madhyamad is closer. I am not musically literate to understand the terms you mention. I like Pandit Jasraj's rendition of raag madhyamad. You can find them on youtube.

@shrinandan You are absolutely right...it's Madhyamad Sarang. The Ni here is komal, not shuddha. I often get them confused...but now you agree right?
