Agree.... Wendy's terminal situation, due to HIV/Aids, was common in the 80s. And I think the song is about Wendy, with her dilemma, leaving this existance before her life became unbearable, and dying with dignity. 20 yrs later, with major medical advances, HIV/Aids is no longer the quick death sentance that it once was.

Actually, I approve wholeheartedly of OR's stance on peoples right not to suffer unnecessarily, and not leaving it to family members or caring physicians to do something illegal, just to end suffering.
