I will add that Jessica and her children were entitled to police protection. They failed to do this. Denver and Castle Rock are 30 minutes away. CR could have contacted Denver since they knew he was at the amusement park. They also treated Jessica with insensitivity. I didn't know Jessica personally, but know someone who did and Jessica was a devoted mother who loved her kids. The castle Rock police just didn't want to be bothered and acted as such. This is gross negligence!

My heart goes out to Jessica! I don't believe that the CR police could'nt do more. They just didn't care. I live in Colorado and this is the worst PD in the state if not the country. It's been ten years since this trajedy and it still lives on. Three innocent children were killed for no reason while the Castle Rock police did nothing. If any of you pigs read this, I say BURN IN HELL! And God Bless you Jessica. You are always in my prayers.

Clearly not. But it will make the police think twice about not doing their job and it will allow her to set up her healing center for survivors like her.

well thats something a layman would say. this is a constitutional issue, its much larger than any monetary sum(in fact doesnt involve one in this instance). the supreme court doesn't handle disputes like that. this mother was merely trying to get the RIGHT to sue, to try to prevent other mothers from suffering such an injustice.

He was never physically abusive. He was just mentally abusive. The real question is why didin't the police do their job? They were told repeatedly where he was. The ruling you speak of only happened after the incident. Your question is disrespectful because it blames the victims' mother for not having a crystal ball. She and the judge believed the children had the protection of the police.

Please correct and enlighten me for what I'm about to say and on things in this case that I may be unaware of: Since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled and confirmed, through this case, that the police ultimately are not responsible for protecting individuals, I need to ask, and I don't mean any disrespect: Why didn't the former Jessica Gonzales have a gun to protect herself and her three daughters from her abusive husband (the father of their daughters)?
