This is my 1983 Yamaha SS440, one of two I have. I drove from Syracuse New York to Sandwich Illinois to get this sled about 7 years ago. They're pretty rare around here. A few pulls for the first start of the season, but starts on the third pull every time after that. Someday, I'll replace the seat cover, but I'm usually too busy riding it to work on it.
primer might help

Tip: When you open the hood on the side opposite of the pull start behind the belt shield there are two vent hoses, one for oil and one for gas blow in the on for the gas for about 5 second, put your thumb on it for 10 seconds, flip the enrichment valve and the second pull it will start right up, we have 4 mint ss 440's
