Finished twisting the yucca into cordage. Wrapped the yucca cordage around the pressure flaker and then tried it out on an obsidian preform.

  • I saw a guy take a small amount of pine resin an rub it up the yucca string before making it into cordage, can't remember the reason or purpose of that though.

  • @PkSage89 = I'm thinking it will help bind the cordage together better. The finished cordage is slick, so the resin would help hold knots in place. Will have to try it out.

  • Those flake scars look just like the ones on the 'old black stuff' we used to find in NM. Nice job!

  • What a difference two years can make! The finished point is beautiful, has lenticular cross section, beautiful flaking. That Yucca cordage is awesome strong-thanks for putting this up...Stew

  • Outstanding job, looks and works great!....thanks....jim

  • Excellent video man! I was gonna do one with milkweed cordage but you beat me to it. I like your chipping technique. Just like they did it!
