I noticed you asked which version of Layla is this, so I added some info in the description. It's true: there are *dozens* of different versions of this song! This one is taken from the "Complete Clapton" anthology, and is the one that I prefer :) I don't know if it's featured in other CDs or anthologies, but it's surely different from the ones on the Derek And The Dominos album issues (original or remastered). Needless to say, the original CD sounds a lot better than this Youtube encoding. ;-)

In 1983 he attacked his mother with a hammer before fatally stabbing her. This song is a remarkable piece of music and it's sad that everyone tends to think of this as *just* Eric Clapton when this really was a team effort by D&TD. Then again it's really the story attached to it that gets people; the most famous love triangle in rock and roll history. Of course, Pattie left George for Eric; they had grown apart and as someone else said, Eric sort of picked Pattie up. George never held it against them.
