What does one do if the mouse trap fails? I guess in this case I'd either throw the mouse outside or cut its head off if I was out to kill it. That's weird what happened.

Well... it is kind of funny. Heck, I'd shoot a mouse to space in a toy rocket, or tie it to a remote controlled toy car and then drive it into the ocean. It's a mouse! I understand the sorrow for the mouse's sake, but never the less, it's a dirty mouse and it's no better than a cockroach.

This video is pretty graphic. But it's what happens obviously. I feel bad about killing them but honestly it's disgusting to try to cohabitate peacefully with them. They destroy your house and poo everywhere. It's not good.

Releasing it wont make any difference, house mice have a strong homing sense,and they'll be back again. OR even releasing them in thewild won't ensure their survival since they are attuned to live in human homes, so they'll be someone else's problem
