The audio to JAW's High Speed Tomato was the best quality JAW recording that we made, with the help of a student audio engineer who agreed to do it for a dozen beers. It was the only time JAW as a band entered a recording studio. (We did later go into a tv studio for 15 minutes).
The Hoon, our lead singer, did not show up that day. Claimed he had to work on the diff on his holden.
Rather than abandon the session, Rob and myself simultaneously volunteered to sing it. Neither was prepared to give way to the other, either. We both sang it, one at a time, listening to the track on the headphones, giving it everything so we would be in the final cut. We ended up using both voices, and I think it works. It's a vocal duet,
Almost all other performances and songs by JAW featured Hoon on vocals. The Video for HS tomato is a professional remix done by a clever tv producer friend of Rob's. The video combines various JAW footage with the HS Tomato audio track mentioned above. It looks like Hoon is singing the song, but he is not. On this one occasion it is a Milly-Vanilli type lip-sync job.
