A Highway Patrol trooper from the Medina post received minor injuries this morning after a motorist struck his car on Interstate 71.
Trooper John Beeler was stopped between Ohio 42 and Bagley Road in the northbound middle lane with another car about 4:45 a.m., a patrol news release said.
Beeler and Eyob Gebregiorgis, operator of the other car, were standing in front of the patrol car, when a car driven by Robert Noll, of Poland, Ohio, hit the patrol car from behind.
Beeler's vehicle lurched forward, striking him and Gebregiorgis. Both men suffered minor injuries, the release said.
Noll was cited for not stopping his vehicle in an assured clear distance. He was not injured.
Gebregiorgis is from Columbus.

Wow! Glad to see there are so many caring people in the world. This Trooper only puts his life on the line every day, he’s serviced on the front lines in our US Military protecting you and our countries freedom. He did the right thing...they're both alive. I would really enjoy watching some of you to go up to State Trooper, Police Office, or a Soldier and share your thoughts and comments. Instead of sitting in your parents basements posting stupid commenting on devastating videos, get a job!

Too bad it didn't kill the pig

You guys are idiots. There was less than a second between when he looked up and the impact. His body went on natural reaction. He didn't have close to enough time to process the whole situation and react. Anyone who is human would have reacted the same.

And, with not understanding english, yelling at him over the PA to move his car over would be a futile effort.
In the end, it is what it is.

@fmg0726 - not to mention, trooper heard the squeal, looked up and grabbed onto the guy while looking for the squealing car to see where it was at, and was likely trying to determine which way to move the guy away from the squealling, givinging him a firm tug on the jacket. However, he didn't have time to do much of anything.
Read the news story fully before commenting, driver apparently doesn't understand english well, which would explain him stopping in a bad spot to begin with.

What a dumbass state trooper. Putting the guy in front of him before he put himself.hes the law enforcement, hes suppose to save lifes instead of trying to end them.
