The Goodbye Song

I began writing this song on January 22 as soon as I learned my family would be moving. I've lived in the same town for the past fourteen years of my life and I'm only, currently, fifteen. Moving is going to be a big change, since I've never really known anything besides what I've grown up with. But I'm ready for the challenge. I'm excited and nervous all in one and I really don't know what to expect. I'm just hoping for the best(:

I've lived within these walls almost all my life,
And I never thought I'd see the day when I'd have to say goodbye,
But the time has come and there's no denying what I have to do,
I have to pick up my sorrows and move on,
But not before saying,

It's a shame we have to leave,
Not so much a choice,
But the outcome of a bad situation where we weren't given a voice,
But still many of you are great people that I'll miss terribly,
Yet I'm stoked to be able to say.

Personally I didn't think ya'll ruled,
But I'll move on,
And get along,
While I sing my goodbye song.

Now I'm walking out this door,
Won't be seeing me anymore,
And I'm leaving many things behind,
But there's so many more that I will find,
And I've cried so many times,
But I'm finally ready to say.

Hello the new,
I know somehow I'm going to make it through today,
And find a way,
To say goodbye to you.
