  • The clown of the day was undoubtedly Spanish MEP Iñigo Méndez de Vigo

    What a pompous clown, really! You should just see how he enters Committee meetings - you'd think he's God's gift to democracy and freedom.

  • Thats why the smaller parties in the EP look more attractive to me. Not the EU phobic nuts of the kind of UKIP but small parties which stand for the kind of development I would like to see: a strengthening of European democracy, if necessary for reaching that aim by strengthening the supranational nature of the EU.

  • "Strengthening European democracy... by strenghtening the supranational nature of the EU" is an oxymoron of the highest kind. Democracy is found in smaller states. The larger the state, federation or empire the less democratic power do people have - read some Jean Jacques Rousseau, for heaven's sake man! Or delve into the development of the Soviet Union.

  • So apparently the reason for going to war against hitler was not to stop a tyrannical socialist leader from dominating Europe but to make sure that tyrannical socialist leader was not hitler. What kind of democracy do Europeans want and is it up to the people at all?

  • Daniel hannan is fantastic also!

  • tremendously important issues and thnx for putting it up, but the background music is so bloody annoying that it will certainly make many people simply switch off after 10sec or suppose its some conspiracies crap. so ffs leave the music. people will understand without it

  • @europarl you think Albania was less totalitarian because it was small? LOOOOOOOOOOOOL it was as bad as today's North Korea.... which is actually a good example in it's self;

    what franzjosefderzweite said is not an oxymoron; though I can't say he's right; there's just no connection

  • @europarl "The larger the state, federation or empire the less democratic power do people have "

    USA, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, India......... counterarguments; how can you say a larger state will be less democratic? that is non-sense; democracy should work for any state! and leave that shit about the USSR alone once and for all!! The Stalinist communism used in that country stripes people or rights no matter the size of the state; whether USSR or Albania......

  • wow that was good, Is the entire thing available on line (like our C-span)?

  • t sounds like they are trying to turn the EU into a 2-part Duoopoly like the US has.

    (where duoploy actually means MONOPOLY with the illusion of choice)

  • kappa now has to resort to calling names........one now knows that kappa is a poor fag.....get lost, loser.
