Stay out of the damn jungle!
For DVC 16: http://www.thedvchallenge.com/ No theme this time, only the prop requirement that we feature a specific item of food.

Right off the bat, apologies to the English for my nigh-insulting accent; the spirit of the DV Challenge is to push yourself, to try new things. I thought I might give this short (which had more of a P.H. Fawcett, 1920s Amazon explorer feel when I wrote the script) a bit more flavor by practicing a dialect. I'm not exactly the inverse Hugh Laurie, but it was worth a shot.
It's amazing how easily an entire month of work can go straight down the drain when you're terrible at what you do. I foresaw just about every last little problem I ended up running into, but my skill and work ethic--or lack thereof--prevented me from solving them.
Dialogue was captured by a Sennheiser ME66 connected to a Beachtek equipped VX2000, as were most of the sound effects, but all visuals are courtesy of my Cybershot T500. I thought it'd be a nice experiment, and it was quite entertaining. Incidentally, the terrible chroma keys you see are more the result of poor bluescreen material, inadequate available space, and awful lighting. The AVC compression from the Cybershot was the least of my problems.
See a raw, straight-from-the-timeline version of the movie over at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0xyuh9uWHs if you're into that sort of thing.
