This isn't the version I am familiar with, and I am reluctant to express a preference, because I know different versions will have a personal meaning to a number of people; but I do find it easier to comprehend the words with this tune.

This is the very best tune for our family's favourite hymn. Praise God that it is still around. It really is a beautiful prayer.

Sung this hymn recently at a funeral service in Barbados. Hadn't heard it for more than 20 years and can't get it out of my head.

If one is a majority please put me on God's side.

The tune is called 'Day of Rest' which should be in most hymn books. This hymn can also be sung to Wolvercote which is in unison.

I prefer this tune. It will sound much better if it is sung in 4-parts( s,a,t,b). I learned the bass part during my high school days back in the 60s.

this reminds me of many school resembalies

Does anyone know the hymn tune name for this? I'd like to use it as an alternative to ANGEL's STORY?
