@darqmage65 Hits like Cool and Get it Up were Prince songs, written, performed and produced by Prince! The Time was just the band assembled to play the music live, but the entire record is Morris singing over Prince produced tracks!
@HypeRhymz He got older and wiser. Dirty Mind was profound; he eschewed formula by putting out an album that he knew would be commercially compromised, instead of riding the wave of the success of the previous album. The Time's first album was the album Prince would've released for himself if the label refused to release Dirty Mind. When the label allowed him to express himself, he called his old band mate Morris Day and had him sing over Prince's voice on the other album!
@coreyj98 Prince gave in to industry when Dirty Mind came around. The rude boy attitude was all for marketing, once he left Warner he put that down and returned to his roots, straight soul and rnb. Albums like Dirty Mind and Purple Rain sell more than albums like For You and Prince because they were marketed towards what the people wanted. Which was nasty and raunchy, instead of the honest artist. Which was what we got with Emancipation and others period (which I love)
Prince was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO nasty, like WOW! back in 1970's & 80's

Prince was so nasty! But I can't help but love him. He is so talented he gets away with mixing dirty naughty lyrics with such a fun beat.
