Feature video - Dr. Paul R. Whiting PhD explores the differences between Dyslexia, Hyperlexia Perceptual Dyslexia also known as Irlen Syndrome or Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome (SSS)
@chaosinfernity17 you know its possible we may have aspergers syndrome, hyperlexia and aspergers are very similar, but hyperlexia is less known about. Im not saying you have it, but i reckon i do and i want to find out if i do have it, in britain people with aspergers get money each week which would help me right now since im finding it hard to get a job, im at a disadvantage when competing with other people for a job as im not as good socially as they are
@Brady2k10 I am the same way. My only difference is that I found out at age 14, but was diagnosed at age 5. It was just kept from me until I reached 14.
since i was diagnosed late, its hard to understand what i need to do to improve or help myself with Hyperlexia. I find it so so hard to talk to people and feel comfortable around them
at 17 i found out for the first time i have Hyperlexia, it all made sense to me though, difficulty in talking and communicating, having trouble understanding what i read, i can read like a wizard, spell like a wizard, write like a wizard all that, but if i read something, like a book, i only get about half of the book... so i have to read it again, biggest challenge for me is communicating, its affected my whole life in a bad way.
@chaosinfernity17 i dont see why they kept it from you? who is they? i assume your parents?
