The Bangalore based music band Manjira offers the very best in Hindi and Bengali number based musical evenings for all occasions including corporate cultural nites, Durga Puja, Diwali and miscellaneous events, functions and jingles. Manjira, a new blossom in the rich music garden city of Bangalore, started its musical journey in 2005. The heart of the band consists of a couple, with a single passion for the creation of melodious music. The band is known for captivating their audiences with a wide range of music - from high energy foot tapping Hindi and Bengali popular current numbers to rich repertoire of golden oldies touching evergreen hearts.

Born and brought up in Kolkata, Raka graduated in Hindusthani Classical Music and Ravindrasangeet. An exponent of Bengali modern songs today in the lyrics and tunes of Kolkatas established lyricists and musicians, she is a regular performer in All India Radio, Kolkata Doordarshan and various live concerts in Kolkata. Raka has won various laurels in SAREGAMA, Gaan Shudhu Gaan, Kichhu Smriti Kichhu Gaan, Surer Ei Jhorna Dharay, Sur Jharna etc. Her first solo album "Pashe Tumi Theko" got released in Sep2008.
