This is the 3rd of a series of lessons teaching how to play bass lines to some easy tunes for beginners.
This lesson looks at the bass line to Let's Dance by David Bowie. A sketch PDF is also available - with music notation and bass tab - but you have to subscribe to my ezine to download it.

If you're a beginner and want to get better, head over to my website and check out my online bass lesson program - play bass by learning songs not scales.

  • @stickwithganja I did do Satisfaction and also an ACDC song too (forgotten what it was called). Use the 'Songs' tab at my website, you'll find them.

  • can you give me some lessons in Italian ... you are very good .. thanks

  • @elprincipematta I'm afraid that's not possible! I can speak passable French. But not Italian!

  • @clui6 yes is it!... couldn't be easier, if he slowed down, it would be booring ass hell! You haft to press the pause button sometimes, and consentrait about the sound he pick etc. ( 6fret (try to hear the same tone on your bass) and play more soon)

  • @RickyStevens94 OK, you need to have a MIDI SEQUENCER program for that - that will isolate the different instruments used in the midi file onto different channels and then you just mute the bass channel. If you have a PC you should be able to use Google to find a free Midi Sequencer.

  • @howtoplaybassdotcom Ok, i'm searching, it's just i really havent a clue how to remove the bass from the file?

  • @RickyStevens94 Hi - I think I just got it from searching on the Net, go to Google and see what you can find. It wasn't a commercially produced Midi file by any means. I only used it as it was around the time when Youtube were really cracking down on copyrighted material.

  • where can i get hold of the MIDI file?
