A short film showing the Bone Marrow Aspiration procedure. The video was produced for the use of Medical Students at the University of Leicester. It was written and produced by Doctor Sue Pavord, Consultant Haematologist and Lecturer at the University of Leicester Medical School.
This video comes with a warning that it is of a medical nature and is quite graphic in places. It starts with an explanation of the most common sites used for obtaining Bone Marrow samples by needle aspiration, before moving on to show the anaesthetic being administered and a Bone Marrow specimen being obtained.
The video concludes with an example of a Core Biopsy being taken with a Trephine Needle.
during my biopsy..my doctor injected me some kind of a drug that put me to sleep soundly... :) but they said my body was conscious but my mind is not... :)

Should they ever put you to sleep before the procedure?

No one tells you that the doctor can't numb the bone & it is really painful. I just had one this morning & I can barely walk. The procedure really sucks and the dude in this video doesn't make a sound. He must be out like a light. I just had a local injection. I won't do this again unless they knock me out.
