Think about it, the name of the game fits, Disc 2 3 and 4 were the "final fantasy" of squall lol

@exdeath86 Even if moomba's healed Squall by some undisclosed means, why would Edea hang up Squall's dead/dying body in a torture chamber? And why, after he was healed, did Seifer not react as if he was supposed to be dead but instead went on questioning him as if it was what he had meant to do after walking in that room? If I remember correctly, Seifer mentions asking these questions for Edea, while this does not prove that Edea asked him to do so I don't think he would act without Edea consent

it becomes somewhat more fantastic as it goes along, but that's how every Final Fantasy game is like.

What if every each Final Fantasy game has same under-plot like this theory?

@ZahnwehZombie Completely agreed. Thank you for your common sense good sir! Vital organs don't have to be hit for it to be fatal. No matter where it hits you, being impaled by a 6 foot spear of ice kind of kills some people!
I don't really agree with the premise that the game was all that realistic on Disc 1.

@RWright2006 I said realistic-ish. Definitely cries realism compared to everything from Disc 2 onwards.

Well, this is cute. A well explained opinion, well developped point. But it's another fruit of the conspiracy theory generation. It's fine if a story is obvious and easy. The political-ecological story of the first part of FF7 twists into a spectacular magic and insanely fantastic mess afterwards, so should I expect that people will wonder if Cloud died when he fell from the second reactor? It's ok that we don't have control over what happened, guys. Accept it with humility?
