In order to fight the Nazis of today we should concentrate on the real ones the fashists and the raccists of today, evident in attitutes like Yours. I feel no hate against no-one and You call me that thing, what You are Yourself. You are fighting Your mirror-image, and because You dont find any real Nazis You accuse people like me of being one. As I said in order to fight the real breed we should concentrate on the real Nazis and not people trying to understand history,I never defended the Nazis

Toall bigots on: Collective guilt is the very tool Hitler used so effectively against Jews- his recruits bought it for sure! Whilst the largest number in the camps were Jews, they did not have a monopoly on the suffering. Also, whilst total damage and terror resulted for Germany during and after WW2 , the sacrifices of the Jews, at least, weren't for nothing because as a result, Jews got their 'promised land' in Israel and centuries of Anti-semitism in all of Europe & USA was out-lawed.

To defeat the Nazis, of course, was correct. But to destroy Dresden pointless though everyone knew that the war was almost over. It is a shame.

@helenheather I was in Berlin in communist times but everywhere else was in transit. A pity we did not have the digital cameras as we do today!

@alanheath I visited in communist tiems as well as recently and I love that its heart is restored ; not just in the bulidings either. Oh and you'll find the original and best Stollen is baked in that beautiful resilient old city. I order it online from England.
