How could the guy on the left not trust Tanya? You can send a 100 infantry towards Tanya and they will ALL die.

Dark environments were and are overdone. The real world is colorful and bright, that's realistic. Having a dark game is a cheap and crappy way for an artist to say "Look, muh game is teh deep!!1" without writing any sort of good backstory (which Tiberium Sun did not.)
That's exactly what's wrong with NOD. They're an evil cult, but Tiberium Sun tried to make them into some sort of cyborg army, which is stupid and nonsensical. At least CNC3 salvaged NOD as best it could.

@PsychoticLoner for me the atmosphere the story, the styles of the sides,the characters, the story telling, units... everything!. Graphics were not that bad! also its dark environment was not for casual gamers. C&C 3 and 4 had not even half of them. Stupid cinematics, poor acting. In TS Cinematic Nod looks a huge, strong, technogical army however in C&C 3 and 4 they look like small terrorist group and have stupid style in cutscenes which does not match their units in gameplay. Nod was awesome.
