On March 10, NFIB CEO Dan Danner joined Karen Ignagni, CEO of America's Health Insurance Plans (the leading lobby group for the health insurance industry) in a press conference at the Ritz-Carlton in Washington, DC. Danner's remarks settled the hanging question of where NFIB would come down in the current debate over health reform: squarely in the camp of the insurance lobby. This may appear surprising at first, but it makes sense when you learn that NFIB is in the business of marketing health insurance to its members, both through "NFIB Health Plans" and with partners like ehealthinsurance and even AIG.
