By animation experts this is considered to be the best animation movie ever done. Entirely done directly on 35 mm fils but using all kind of techniques, drawings, scratching, blottings, etc, the guy was totally wild when he did that. In fact he was later diagnosed as bipolar and was probably felling like pure energy when he did it! Luckily he had his friend Evelyn Lambart that could control him a bit and it is probably due to her if the fil exist as a finished product.

that's interesting (bipolar) - I didn't know that. I agree that this is the best animation ever done - there are several moments in there that I can just sit and gaze with my tears flowing b/c its so amazing. He painted the soul of the music.
