A motor so simple even i can build it. Spins really well AND entertains the kids.

Ingredients;

Copper wire
1x Battery
1x Large neodymium magnet
5x Small neodymium sphere magnets (used to stabilize the wire)

  • Hey, I have done this with a smaller magnet, but what are the demensions of your magents?

    The bottom ones look about 2 inches in diameter, how wide are they?

    And how big where the spheres? I have never done that before but it looks like a good idea. Also how long before it would catch on fire or blow up?

    Please get back to me I dont want to hurt myself!

  • The larger magnet is 3cm x 2.5cm (around 1.2" x 1") spheres are 0.5cm.

    No idea what it would take to cause that kind of failure.. probably something stopping the wire from moving and leaving the battery shorting itself.

    I've ran it for close to 2 hrs without it getting hot. If the wire stops moving it heats up.

    I figure its best to have as little friction as possible on the contacts .. and as well balanced as possible.

  • love it. setup is funky + simple ;) does it go for long if you just let it run the battery down?

  • The longest test I have run so far with this design is 115 minutes non stop. The motor had not begun to show signs of slowing down. At this point there was minimal heat in the wire and minimal heat in battery. I was quite surprised at how cool the components were having run for so long, they were barely warm and not anywhere near hot.(test running from a fully charged 1.5v AA Alkaline battery) I might try a longer test at another time but I'm sure plenty of other people have done this before.

  • @TheApple128k Only if you don't let the wire spin freely. The wire spinning is the load or what's using up the current in the battery. It stays basically cool to the touch. It will run until the battery runs out of charge. Only if you connect the wire and don't spin it does the wire heat up (and very quickly at that).

  • Nice. I have one too. Please, tell me.. what is the name of this song?

  • Free Energy is real and its here! The Oil companies are doing everything in their power to stop these information. If you want a Free energy machine do a search in youtube for the LT MAGNET MOTOR , Join the revolution!
