where do you find these auctions? i have been rehabing horses for 3 years and i just sold my latest. i live in IL and can probably afford to rehab 2 right now. this is so unbelivably sad..

lol, I love how he sinks immediately in that snow!! Beautiful!!! At least you didn't have to worry about them kicking! =D

@studio5alive I will be crying too when I rescue. I actually think this video proves the opposite of what you're saying. It takes a strong, compassionate person who loves horses and sees the potential and true value of them to do what you are doing! Much love to you and your horses!=]

@studio5alive I thought he was Percheron! I'm so, so happy for you and him! I want to do this when I can support myself! Best of luck to you both ! <3

you can see how he bonded with you cause when you were looking at the other horse he was really inclined and looking towards you....love it, am so glad you were able to get him. I myself have 14 horses at the moment and occasionally rescue and rehome but the 14 here now are our family of horses...look us up if you're ever in Canada, namely Manitoba.

@doodoo282 I understand what it wouldve been like when u see the 1 its the 1. When I rescued my first 2 there was several horses I couldve chosen from, the sec I saw this old pali mare somethin clicked that she was the 1 but I didnt know it. She was old, skinny, looked half dead & basically done with life. I ended up buying her & a young gelding. She now acts like a yearling & is a totally different horse. I didnt aim to buy her it just turned out that way. The 1 ends up being the 1 either way

well done on your rescue. Duke is absolutely gorgeous. I hope that you will go on to do more rescues in the future. Some people have been desensitized yes and others dont know the truth. Im guessing that girl just thought you were crying cause you simply bought a horse at an auction. I know what that first auction is like I very recently went to mine and came home with 2 amazingly charactered horses, you were so lucky to have that support of people who knew what they were doing. well done :D
Yes, I was crying at the auction, it was quite emotional and I was relieved that I had outbid the kill buyer that I was bidding against....and that Duke was coming home with us, instead of going to the slaughterhouse. You are right.... I wouldn't make it in the horse world, that is why I am not in it.... it seems so many 'people' in the 'horse world' have been de-sensitized to the mistreatment and abuse of horses.
