ISC Video: The University of Massachusetts Boston held a groundbreaking for a $155 million, 220,000-square-foot Integrated Sciences Complex on Wednesday, June 8, 2011. The complex is being built at the entrance of the Columbia Point campus and will house state-of-the-art research, teaching, and training laboratories.
The following people spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony: UMass Boston Chancellor J. Keith Motley; UMass President Jack Wilson; UMass Board of Trustees Chairman James Karam; Phil Johnston from the UMass Building Authority; Carole Cornelison from the Division of Capital Asset Management; State Senator Jack Hart ; State Representative Marty Walsh; Boston Mayor Thomas Menino; UMass Boston Provost Winston Langley; and Secretary of Education Paul Reville.
This is great news for UMB! UMB is steadily transitioning into a great school from a good school.
