Stephanie J. Block in 'Cats' at the Muny. This was recorded on July 19. Not too bad considering I was sitting really far from the stage.

  • @omnigeek13 Funnily enough, I've known this song my whole life without even knowing it.

My parents are from the 40's and 50's and have listened to "oldies" music ever since my brother had been born (he's 20). I always loved the song (I assume Elaine paige is the original singer?). Stephanie J Block is an AMAZING singer and woman and is right next to Elaine in my eyes. xD

  • @SMSProductions1 i have to disagree slightly. not that his work doesnt require a great deal of acting, but the score isnt the primary moving vehicle of this song. Elaine Paige sings this song like no one. She's the only singer of this song thats ever made me cry, and i believe that was Elaine, not the score

  • @Puppies140 she recently became mine, which means she surpasssed betty buckely, patti lupone AND bernadette peters, which isnt easy

  • I think she just became my favorite Broadway Diva..

  • I think people are really overestimating the ability of acting needed for an Andrew Lloyd Webber show. Not TOO many of them require a lot of acting skills because the score does all of that for you, honestly. Phantom's score did a lot of acting for the actors, I honestly feel CATS does too. Evita was probably the show that Andrew Lloyd Webber created that truly called for great acting skills.

  • when i saw this live i think i did cry! hahah

SJB is amazing, i woulda died if she was the one i saw! haha

  • @MrAmazingMarcus She was amazing in The Boy From Oz.

  • @MrAmazingMarcus ah well to each their own i guess :)

  • @ThisPerfectFinale I've seen her in about 20 different shows. Always vocally amazing, and PHENOMENAL woman....but weak weak weak choices. She was AMAZING in pirate queen however...too bad the show was shit

  • I saw her in 9 To 5 and she was FANTASTIC! Always one of my favorite performers... Such a delight in her acting and her voice... Omigod. Her range along is amazing.
