While I understand that our brothers and sisters on the right deeply disliked this man, I do hope that you all might at least understand that he was deeply admired by many of us on the left. For my own part, the Kennedy family has, in all effect, taken on royal status in my hearts. Despite his severe and oh-so-apparent flaws, he was the final first-generation tie to this family and era, as well as a passionate and articulate advocate in his own right.

I miss Teddy. He was the last Democrat who had enough power to actually move things in the right direction. There still are great Dems (Kucinich, etc.), but they didn't have the force of power that Teddy had.  He may be the last of his kind.
