THE BEST OF ITV DRAMA: THE HUMAN JUNGLE - HEARTBEATS IN A TIN BOX

Kindly requested by our subscriber, lynne150351 (below), here's another episode from the early ABC drama, starring Herbert Lom as Dr. Roger Corder, "The Human Jungle". On this occasion, we're screening Episode 11 from Series 2, "Heartbeats in a Tin Box", first broadcast on 7th December, 1964. In this episode, which guest stars Ray McAnally (soon to be seen on itv gold 2 as "Spindoe", following our screening of "The Fellows") and includes an early appearance by Susan George as Gina McCutcheon, "Christine Box (Judith Stott), a normally placid, unmarried teacher, at a tough secondary modern school uncharacteristically lashes out at a pupil and is charged with assault. Though found guilty, she is allowed back at the school because of her previous good record and once again has another lapse. Dr. Corder delves into her family and social background to understand how she has suddenly taken on a new violent streak."
