irnixon, I thk y're right... I'm currently observing swiftlet, they also have a display involving 3 individuals chasing/ synchronize fly thn later become a pair chasing, this kind of display flight occurred in other swift spp too. really nice clip!

After many seasons visiting large colonies of king penguins (several hundred thousand + chicks), I do believe I am correct on sexing the birds. :) This courtship ritual -- males following females until only one male is left -- is typical and when the male mounts the female you know you have your sexes right. Perhaps in the zoo the sex ratio and limited competition skews the behavior. Thanks for watching ...

The adult resembled a bit like the emperor Penguins! Except for the chick which has brown fur and the coloring is different.
