woops, I commented before I read the other comments on this page. I'm afraid my stuff sounds like an echo of yours. Anyway, I'm always glad when I see other people defend the US. I've seen too many Americans who will agree with the hateful anti-American, anti-capitalism drivel that is put on the web-Cheers

You're right. That comment was pure stupidity. What kind of economy/government is s/he in favor of anyway? Communism looks good on paper and the evil of choice is basically eliminated from the life of the average citizen of a communist country, but no one of these nations has ever been able to provide properly for the majority of it's people.

Along with that, communist nations are run by atheists (no offence to atheists, I am one) and the system oppresses the religious. There is no religious guidence behind the laws and policies created by a communist legislature. Example: China's policy of coercing couples to abort a second child. This person sounds very religious to me. S/he would not do too well in a communist state.

So many people are anti-American and anti-capitalism but they really don't know why. They sit at their computer in their comfy home in America, Canada, Ireland, or Great Britian and write about all these things that they haven't actually studied and don't fully grasp. Most of these people are just dopes and sheep.

I can admit that my country has done things that were wrong and has failed at some things but our capitalist economic system (granted it needs to have some regulation) is something we've done right. This system has survived the Great depression and numerous recessions and will continue to do so. And hundreds of thousands of immigrants from communist countries have come here for a better life and hundreds of thousands will continue to do so.
