Hi! Noob with a stupid question here! Is that a stock turbo?? i know it`s stupid to ask cause i never heard honda made streetbikes with turbo (But hey...i`m from europe) !! Youl`d be buying the bike at the local garage and they would be offering you or informing you about great deals on life insurace or on the best undertakers in the state (LOL)!

Yep, it's a factory turbo with 3 map electronic fuel injection. The regular CX line was released from '78 to '84 and very popular around the world including Europe. In 82 Honda released the 500 Turbo (I also own one) as the worlds first production turbo charged bike. Very rare. The 650T in this video was the new and improved version for 83, it's EXTREMELY rare, I don't think Europe received any. It can hang with a Busa from 40 to 130 which is impressive for a small 27 year old twin.

I'm watching your video and trying to figure out something. Are the two LCD's (Clock and boost) backlit? I'm resurrecting a CX500T now and they're not backlit, and I wanted to know if that was normal.

Yes, both are backlit and easily viewable at night. You can get to the bulbs by lifting the front bonnet cover but I seem to recall debate over whether those two gauges had replaceable bulbs.

Cool bike! Thanks for posting a vid! I was looking for a good acceleration video! Man this thing pulls hard when it hits boost! You watch that tach slowwlyyyy rise, and all the sudden it goes to the moon! :D Gotta love Honda and all their technologically innovative bikes! Never owned one of their turbo bikes, but I have a CBX among other things, so I guess that counts as one of Honda's cool innovative machines! :)

I love these old turbos. my buddy picked up a newer buel and we were having some fun he tried to leave me and i kept right up, first thing he said when he took off his helmet was Damn that thing has some big balls. i have the 82 turbo with under 7K lovely bike

@19psi I am trully amazed!! I`m a big fan of 80`s and 90`s automotive and motorcicle industries of those days and i never thaught anything this crazy had ever been donne!! I always says there`s nothing like an old car or bike!no electronic gizmos to go wrong! All mechanical and that`s how we like it! Just think of a gxsr or a ninja! Or a renault r5 gt turbo,peugeaut 206 turbo 16,lancia stratos...!All mechanical! All beasts :)!! Thanks for spicing my interest on your bikes!

Looks like that thing will get up and fly. I rode an old clapped out 500 and didn't care for it. It was too small feeling and geared too low for me personally. I'm spoiled by a R/100/GS and everything else feels pinched. That bike really appeals to me with the engine design and a turbo, and it's still a handsome style that's stood the test of years. You could probably make a heck of a sleeper bike out of one if you wanted to., it'd be fun to smoke a few liter bikes. more cc and boost maybe
